Professional Biography

Senait W. Dyson, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist who joined Specialists in Dermatology, PLLC in February 2009.  Dr. Dyson relocated to Arizona from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) where she served as the assistant professor of dermatology and pathology and the Director of Dermatopathology.  While at UCI, Dr. Dyson split her time between caring for patients, interpreting skin biopsies, teaching residents and medical students, lecturing on a wide range of skin diseases around the country as well as participating in and completing many research projects.  Dr. Dyson was twice awarded Teacher of the Year by the dermatology residents at UCI.

 Dr. Dyson holds a BS in chemistry from The University of Indianapolis where she graduated Summa cum Laude and first in her graduating class.  She received several prestigious awards by the division of Science and Mathematics, including The Robert M. Brooker Award given to one outstanding student in Science and Mathematics.  Dr. Dyson received her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga., where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.  She completed a dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and then completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Texas-MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she received extensive training in the microscopic diagnosis of skin cancers and inflammatory skin lesions.

 Dr. Dyson lives in Tucson with her husband, who is a pediatrician, and their two children.  At Specialists in Dermatology, PLLC, Dr. Dyson continues to care for patients presenting with a wide range of skin diseases while continuing to microscopically interpret biopsy specimens for physicians at Specialists in Dermatology, PLLC and outside practices.   

 Dr. Dyson continues to be active in academic dermatology and dermatopathology.  She has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and serves as an editor for many dermatologic journals.
