This year, we're celebrating a big milestone: Alyssa Anderson, NP-C, is marking her 5 year anniversary with our dermatology practice. Five years of expert care, thousands of patients helped, and countless skin health journeys guided from start to finish. We wanted to take a moment to introduce you to the person behind the care, and to say thank you for everything she brings to our team and our patients.
From the ER to Dermatology
Alyssa's path to dermatology wasn't a straight line, and that's part of what makes her such a well rounded provider. Originally from Ohio, she spent 10 years working as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department before deciding to pursue advanced practice nursing. In 2021, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing from West Coast University and became a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
That decade in the ER isn't just a line on her resume. Emergency medicine teaches you to think quickly, stay calm under pressure, and treat every patient with the same level of urgency and care, whether the visit is routine or complex. Alyssa carries those instincts into every dermatology appointment. Patients often mention how thorough she is, how she takes the time to really look and listen, and how comfortable she makes them feel even when they're anxious about a new spot, a stubborn breakout, or a skin concern they've been putting off.
Five Years of Dedicated Dermatology Care
Since transitioning into dermatology, Alyssa has spent the last 5 years building a practice built on trust, education, and personalized treatment. She treats patients of all ages, from teenagers navigating their first breakouts to older adults managing sun damage, and everything in between. Her scope covers a wide range of skincare conditions, and she approaches each one with the same goal: helping patients understand their skin and feel confident in the plan they leave with.
What sets Alyssa apart is her commitment to staying current. She's an active member of both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Dermatology, two organizations that keep her connected to the latest research, treatment protocols, and best practices in the field. Dermatology is a specialty that evolves constantly, new studies, new technology, new approaches to old problems, and Alyssa makes it a priority to keep learning so her patients benefit from the most up to date care available.
Over the past five years, she's earned a reputation among our patients and staff as someone who genuinely cares. She's not just treating a rash or a mole; she's getting to know the person in front of her, understanding their history, their concerns, and their goals, and building a treatment plan around all of it.
Life Outside the Clinic for Alyssa Anderson, NP-C
When Alyssa isn't seeing patients, she's usually doing something active or creative. She's an avid hiker and cyclist, and you'll often find her outdoors taking advantage of everything Arizona has to offer. She also plays the piano, a hobby that speaks to the same patience and precision she brings to her clinical work.
At home, Alyssa balances her busy professional life with quality time alongside her husband, two dogs, and two cats. That balance between an active lifestyle and family time is something she values deeply, and it's part of what keeps her energized and present for her patients day after day.
Why Provider Anniversaries Matter
We like to celebrate milestones like this one because they represent more than just a number of years worked. Five years with Alyssa means five years of continuity for our patients, five years of relationships built on trust, and five years of a provider who has continually invested in her own growth so she can better serve the people who walk through our doors.
If you've been a patient of Alyssa's, you already know what makes her special. If you haven't yet had the chance to meet her, this is a great time to schedule a visit and see for yourself why so many patients keep coming back to her care.
Currently Accepting New Patients
The good news is that Alyssa is currently accepting new patients. Whether you're dealing with a persistent skin condition, want a full skin check, or are simply looking for a dermatology provider who takes the time to truly listen, she'd be glad to help you reach your skincare goals.
Join us in celebrating Alyssa's 5 year anniversary by giving her the chance to care for your skin the way she's cared for our patients over the last five years.
