When you walk into Specialists in Dermatology in Tucson AZ, you're not just seeing a provider, you're benefiting from a career that spans four countries, nearly four decades, and more specialties than most clinicians ever touch. Xiangping Fang, NP-C, DCNP brings a depth of experience and a warmth of perspective that is genuinely rare in any healthcare setting.

A Career Built on Curiosity and Commitment

Xiangping Fang began her journey in healthcare over 37 years ago as a Registered Nurse. But unlike many clinicians who spend their careers in one place, Ms. Fang's path took her across the globe, working in China, the Middle East, England, and eventually the United States. Along the way, she practiced in a wide range of specialties: Medical-Surgical, Women's Health, Pediatrics, Ortho-Neurology, Stroke care, and Acute Rehabilitation.

That kind of breadth isn't just impressive on paper. It means Ms. Fang has cared for patients at some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, across vastly different healthcare systems and cultural contexts. It takes adaptability, clinical sharpness, and a genuine commitment to people to do that well, and she has done it for decades.

After settling in the United States, Ms. Fang continued to invest in her education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, then went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Phoenix. She spent time working in Internal Medicine as an NP-C before making the move to dermatology in March 2016.

Dual Board Certification in Dermatology

One of the things that sets Ms. Fang apart is her dual certification. She holds the NP-C credential from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, a rigorous, nationally recognized certification for nurse practitioners. She also holds the DCNP designation from the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Certification Board, which is a specialty certification specific to dermatology practice.

That second certification matters. The DCNP isn't something every dermatology NP has, it requires demonstrated expertise in dermatologic conditions, treatments, and patient care. It's a signal that Ms. Fang didn't just step into dermatology; she committed to mastering it.

She is also an active member of the Dermatology Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, staying connected to the broader community of practitioners and the latest developments in the field.

Outstanding Quality, Backed by Data

Patient satisfaction is hard to measure, but clinical quality ratings offer one objective window into how a provider performs. Ms. Fang has earned an outstanding quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, scoring 99.2 out of 100 on the MIPS quality assessment. That puts her in the top tier of providers nationally, a reflection of the thorough, careful care she brings to every patient encounter.

Patients notice it too. Reviews describe her as thorough, professional, and attentive, someone who actually listens and addresses concerns. That combination of high clinical scores and strong patient feedback isn't an accident. It's the result of decades of experience and a genuine dedication to doing the job well.

More Than a Provider

Part of what makes Ms. Fang such an asset to our practice is the perspective she brings as a person. She is bilingual, speaking both Mandarin and English fluently, which is a meaningful resource for Tucson's diverse patient population. If you or a family member are more comfortable communicating in Mandarin, Ms. Fang can provide care in your language, something that can make a real difference in how comfortable and understood you feel during an appointment.

Outside the clinic, she is someone who stays curious and engaged with the world. She enjoys reading, walking, hiking, swimming, and traveling. She visits family and friends in China regularly and cherishes time with her son. That kind of roundedness, a full life outside of medicine, often translates into a provider who brings patience and perspective to her work with patients.
